Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains what information Playbucks collects, why, who receives it, and the choices you have. It covers the Playbucks app, the Playbucks rewards inside Red Lion Labs games, and this website.

The games also have their own privacy policy at redlionlabs.co/privacy.

1. Who we are

Playbucks is run by Red Lion Labs LLC (“Red Lion Labs”, “we”, “us”). Our mailing address is 1304 Anacapa, Irvine, CA 92602.

For anything about your privacy, write to hello@playbucks.app.

2. What we collect

  • Your account. An email address, if you give us one. If you sign in with Apple or Google, the identifier and the email address that service passes to us. Google also passes the name and the picture on your Google account; see Signing in with Apple or Google. A display name and the avatar you choose.
  • Your device. An identifier for your device and one for the app install, and whether you use an iPhone or an Android phone. On iPhone, also the identifier Apple gives to all apps from the same company, so that Playbucks can recognize our games on the same phone. A scrambled form of your IP address, which we keep to limit abuse of sign-in; we do not store the address itself. When the app opens, Apple (App Attest) or Google (Play Integrity) confirms to us that it is our genuine app on a real device, and we keep the result.
  • Your play. Which of our games are linked to your account, your play sessions, your achievements, and the ads shown to you, with what each ad paid and the country it was shown in, as our advertising partner reports it.
  • Your rewards. Your playbucks, your keys, the chests you opened, your cash, and your cash-outs and their status.
  • PayPal. When you connect PayPal: your PayPal account ID, your PayPal email address, the country of your PayPal account, and whether PayPal marks your account as verified. We never receive your PayPal password or your card details.
  • Invites. Who invited whom.
  • Notifications. If you allow notifications, a token from Apple or Google that lets us send them to your phone.
  • Advertising. The advertising partners in the app and in the games collect information from your device to show ads and to measure them: your device’s advertising identifier, where you allow it, your IP address, and details of the device such as its model and system version. They also receive your Playbucks account number, so that an ad you watched can be confirmed to us.
  • Support. The messages you send us.

If you play as a guest, your account has no email address. It is tied to your device until you save it.

If the law requires us to report payments for tax purposes, we may ask you for the tax information needed for that. We will tell you when we ask.

Signing in with Apple or Google

When you sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier for your Apple account and the email address you choose to share. When you sign in with Google, we receive an identifier for your Google account and its email address, name and picture.

We use the identifier and the email address to sign you in, to keep your account and your progress, and to write to you about your account. We do not use the name or the picture. All of it is stored with our sign-in provider, named under Who receives it. We do not give it to advertising partners, and it is removed when your account is deleted.

3. What we do not collect

We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photos, or a government ID.

4. Why we use it

  • To run the rewards: to count playbucks and keys, open chests, and keep your balance.
  • To pay your cash-outs.
  • To show the ads in the app and in the games. The ads are what pays for the rewards.
  • To prevent fraud and duplicate accounts.
  • To answer you when you write to support.
  • To meet our legal and tax duties.

5. Who receives it

These companies receive information so they can do their part:

  • Supabase stores our database and runs sign-in.
  • Unity LevelPlay and the ad networks it serves, such as Unity Ads, ironSource and Google AdMob, show the ads in the app and in the games. The list of networks may change.
  • PayPal sends your cash-outs.
  • Resend sends our sign-in emails.
  • Apple and Google provide sign-in, if you choose it, and the app stores where you get the app.
  • Expo delivers our notifications to your phone, through Apple and Google.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or when it is needed to protect players, Playbucks or others from fraud or harm. If Playbucks or Red Lion Labs is sold or merged, your information may pass to the new owner, under this policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Personalized ads, and how to limit them

Advertising partners may use your device’s advertising identifier to show you personalized ads. You can limit that in your phone’s settings:

  • iPhone: open Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Tracking. Turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track”, or turn tracking off for Playbucks and for each game.
  • Android: open Settings, then Privacy, then Ads (on some phones: Settings, then Google, then Ads). Choose “Delete advertising ID”.

You will still see ads. They will not be based on that identifier.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. After your account is deleted, records of rewards and payments are kept with you removed from them, because payment records must be kept.

7. Your choices and rights

For any question about your information, or to use a right the law gives you, write to hello@playbucks.app from the email address on your account.

8. California residents

If you live in California, the law gives you these rights:

  • To know what personal information we collect, use and share, and to get a copy of yours.
  • To have your personal information deleted.
  • To have it corrected.
  • To opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of it.
  • Not to be treated differently for using these rights.

In the words of California law, the categories we collect are identifiers (such as your email address, your device and advertising identifiers, and your PayPal account ID), commercial information (your rewards and payments), and app activity (your play sessions and the ads shown to you). The sections above say why we use each and who receives it.

We do not sell personal information for money. When advertising partners use your advertising identifier to show personalized ads, California law may call that “sharing”, or a “sale”. To opt out, limit ad tracking in your phone’s settings, as described under Personalized ads, or write to us.

To use any of these rights, write to hello@playbucks.app from the email address on your account. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours. Someone you have authorized in writing may also ask for you.

9. Age

Playbucks is for adults aged 18 and older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, write to hello@playbucks.app.

10. This website

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. It loads nothing from other companies.

Like any website, the company that hosts it (Cloudflare) receives what your browser sends with each request, such as your IP address, in order to deliver the pages.

11. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
